Antonio Carmona Biography

A founding member of the cutting edge flamenco group Ketama, Antonio Carmona has long been one of the genre's leading protagonists for new and inventive ideas. Known for their willingness to incorporate non-traditional influences, such as Salsa, Hip Hop, Jazz and others, Ketama was among the first to bring the music of their native Spain to world music listeners. Coming from a family of musicians four generations deep, and beginning his performance career at a very young age, Carmona has the pedigree and experience of a flamenco master. His former group Ketama was known for their virtuosic mastery of the guitar and extremely tight vocal harmonies. In addition to being a guitarist and vocalist, Carmona is credited with being one of his country's finest percussionists, having introduced the use of the Peruvian Cajon (a wooden box instrument, the word cajon means box) into flamenco music. During his time with Ketama, Carmona also dabbled in the film world, appearing in such films as Go for Gold! (1997) and Gitano (2000.) Having spent twenty years alongside his brother and cousin, Carmona split from Ketama to release his debut solo recording Vengo Venenoso in 2006. ~ Evan C. Upon receipt of the information included in the Consultation & Artist Info Package, Buyer agrees that ERG has fulfilled its obligations under this agreement and releases ERG from any and all liability to the maximum extent allowed by law, and will indemnify and hold harmless ERG, its directors, officers, employees, and agents, from and against any and all claims arising from this agreement and subsequent event including but not limited to all third party claims, losses, damages, suits, fees, judgments, costs and expenses (collectively referred to as 'Claims'), including attorneys' fees incurred in responding to such Claims, that the parties may suffer or incur arising out of or in connection with (a) a party’s negligence, willful misconduct, or breach of any representation, warranty, or other obligation under this Agreement, or (b) any personal injury (including death) or damage to property resulting from a party or its agents' acts or omissions and standard force majeure. The parties will give prompt notice of any Claim to the other party, and the parties will defend the opposing party at their request. This Agreement will be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of NEVADA.
